The Blessed of Ölkky

This set is based on 4000 year old rock paintings.
Julma Ölkky is a 3.5 km long gorge lake in southern Kuusamo. The northernmost rock paintings In Finland dating back to 2500-1500 B.C. were accidentally discovered in 1978 in the steep rock faces of this lake. The paintings depict twho main themes; tall and small human figures standing side by side or individual figures with a swan, the holy bird bringing good luck, on the shoulder or close by. The paintings contain some unsolved mysterious elements: is it man’s inner self, his soul, that the smaller figures stand for, is the swan his guardian from the invisible World of the spirits?
